Romanos - Revised Standard Version (1966)

A Carta aos Romanos é bem diferente das outras Cartas de São Paulo, pelo fato de ser uma comunidade cristã que não foi fundada por ele, e sim por São Pedro. Esta carta foi escrita no final da terceira viagem missionária de Paulo, em Corinto, por volta do ano 57-58 a fim de preparar a sua chegada em Roma. É uma carta onde temos o ponto mais elevado da elaboração teológica do apóstolo. Não trata de assuntos pessoais, mas da vida cristã, a justificação por Cristo que nos faz ser e viver como filhos de Deus e mostra a Lei de Moisés como algo provisório na história do Povo de Deus. O ponto alto da Carta é o capítulo 8, onde mostra que a vida cristã é uma vida conforme o Espírito Santo, que habita em nós, nos leva à santificação vencendo as obras da carne, levando-a a transfiguração no dia da ressurreição universal. Tudo foi preparado por Deus Pai que nos fez filhos no Seu Filho, a fim de dar a Cristo muitos irmãos, co-herdeiros da glória do primogênito (Rm 8, 14-18).
