A segunda Carta é bem diferente da primeira, não é tanto doutrinária, mas trata das relações de Paulo com a comunidade e desfaz mal entendidos, inclusive, e faz a sua defesa diante de acusações sérias que recebeu dos cristãos judaizantes. Nesta carta Paulo mostra a sua alma, seus sofrimentos e angústias pelo reino de Cristo, que resumem na frase: ?É na fraqueza do homem que Deus manifesta todo a sua força? (2 Cor 12,9).
