With profound joy we announced that the International Encounter for Priests will largest international meeting of Priests, given that registrations already received have far surpassed any hope. 

 

For this reason, the Congregation for the Clergy has decided that the sessions of the mornings of the ninth and tenth of June will be held both at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls and at the Basilica of St. John in the Lateran.  All of the participants will be divided by language group in order to be able better to participate in the conferences and in the functions planned in the official program.

The ROSSO (Red) Pass is for those whose participation is foreseen at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls

            Distribution of Multilingual Headphones

Throughout the planned activities of the International Encounter for Priests, a service of simultaneous translation is planned.

For those who wish, at the entrance of each Basilica they will find an help desk for Vox Tour which will consign, upon the presentation of the PASS of the International Encounter for Priests – the multilingual receivers and headphones.

A deposit of 20 euros must be given upon consignment of the apparatus.  We would therefore ask that you have with you a banknote of 20 euros, and in the case that you instead prefer to leave on deposit your Passport or other Identity Document, that you carry with you a photocopy. 

Both will be returned to you at the moment in which you turn in your personal Vox Tour.

The receivers can be retained during the entire duration of the event, but we remind you that they must be turned in at the Vox Tour desk present near every location of a planned activity,  in order to recover your Identity Document  or deposit.

 

Simultaneous Translation

Simultaneous Translation is guaranteed throughout the course of the events. 

On the mornings of the 9th and 10th of June, this service is planned only and exclusively in the languages of the divided language groups.

Those who wish to concelebrate, must follow the following instructions:

9:15 a.m.  Archbishops & Bishops- Cappella del Coro at St. Peter’s Basilica

9:30 a.m.  Cardinals-  Cappella San Sebastiano at St. Peter’s Basilica

 

            SACRED VESTMENTS

Their Eminences, the Cardinals, and Excellencies, Bishops and Archbishops, will find Sacred Vestments in their respective meeting places.

 

You will only need to bring:

Cardinals:  White Precious Miter

Bishops:  White Simple Miter 

Priests:  Amice, Alb, Cincture, White Stole

Deacons:  Amice, Alb, Cincture, White Stole

 

At the proper time, guided by the Pontifical Masters of Ceremony, the Concelebrants will go to their proper places in St. Peter’s Square.

 

Their Eminences the Cardinals will take part in the Entrance Procession with the Holy Father.

Groups arriving by Rome with their own bus must contact the following website for permissions to transit and access the ZTL Zone;  www.mobilita.commune.it

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORT

In order to enter, stay and transit within the Schengen Zone, all participants must be in possession of a passport or other travel document recognized as valid by all the Scengen States*, which attest to the identity and nationality or citizenship of the holder. 

 

Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi is not responsible for possible problems concerning personal travel documents (Validity, Visas, etc) which must be verified individually with the competent local authority (Embassies/Consulates of Italy)

EVENTS-  CLOSING OF THE YEAR FOR PRIESTS

8 June, 2010  Charismatic Day of Retreat for Priests

Planned for the vigil of the Closing of the Year for Priests in Rome, this encounter will be celebrated in the Roman Basilica of St. John in the Lateran from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the them “The Gift of Priesthood.”  At noon meditations will be offered by His Excellency, the Most Revered Mauro Piacenza, Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy.  (Free Admittance)
